North Tyneside Voluntary Organisations Development Agency is looking for an exceptionally talented and experienced person to appoint to the position of
Volunteer Development Officer
£24,185 per annum pro rata for 22.5 hours/week (FTE 0.61)
VODA operates the Volunteer Centre for North Tyneside, an NCVO Accredited resource providing support and expertise to potential volunteers, existing volunteers and organisations that involve volunteers. Due to recent restructuring we are now able to expand our services and are seeking a Volunteer Development Officer to join our established and highly successful team.
To be considered for this post you must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of issues relating to volunteering. You should have a sound understanding of good practice in recruiting and supporting volunteers, as well as ideas on how you can help people from all walks of life to access volunteering opportunities relevant to their skills, interests, ambitions and support needs. You will have experience of working with a wide range of people– but you will be especially interested in enabling young people to volunteer. You will understand how volunteering can benefit not only volunteers and placement providers but also the wider community and you will be keen to grasp new initiatives. You will be able to rapidly build a rapport with volunteers on a one-to-one basis and use your skills to ensure that volunteers on training courses are fully engaged, a key task of this post.
An understanding and commitment to partnership working is essential to support the design and delivery of a North Tyneside Volunteer Strategy. You will keep up to date with local, regional and national policy issues impacting on volunteering, providing a North Tyneside response as required.
Deadline for applications: Monday 3 September 2018 at noon. Interviews: w/c 17 September 2018.
