Announcement from VODA’s Chief Executive, Lisa Goodwin

“It is with a mixture of sadness and excitement I am announcing that I will be leaving my position at VODA in October this year, following my appointment as the new Deputy Chief Executive at VONNE (Voluntary Organisations Network North East). I’ve been at VODA since February 2010 and in the Chief Executive role since October 2011. It has been an absolute privilege to work for VODA and I have enjoyed almost every minute of it! The staff team are second to none and the board have been a constant source of advice and support over the years. North Tyneside has a voluntary sector that is resilient, resourceful, and committed to working in partnership for the benefit of all our residents, and I have been fortunate to be a part of that. It is time for me to move on to pastures new and I am excited about the chance to work on more strategic initiatives with VCS organisations across the region. My new role at VONNE is focussed on business development, income generation, and developing new partnerships, so I will look forward to continuing to work with VODA and other North Tyneside VCS organisations in a different guise.”

VODA’s Chair, Linda Hoffman said: “As Chair of VODA I have worked closely with Lisa for the past five years. I have seen at first hand how Lisa’s strong personal leadership style has developed a high-calibre staff team to support all aspects of VODA’s work. She will be a hard act to follow!  Although softly spoken and always with a sparkle of humour, Lisa is not a woman to trifle with.  Her understanding of the community and voluntary sector  and her determination to get the best for VODA as well as all the other organisations and their volunteers makes her well-placed to take on the new role with VONNE and will be perfectly suited to her talents.  Whilst I am sad to see her go, I know this is an excellent opportunity for Lisa but I am confident that she leaves VODA in a much stronger position than it might have been, given the difficulties facing the sector, and that we too, are ready to move on to the next chapter of our life, building on the successes that Lisa has created.  On behalf of the Board and staff team we also look forward to working with Lisa in the future in her new role.”
