Gives grants to registered charities, schools and not-for-profit organisations wishing to encourage young people’s interest either in the countryside and the environment, the arts (in the broadest sense) or in science, or to raise levels of literacy and numeracy.
There are two programmes of funding:
- Small grants: for awards up to £4,000 for schools and small registered charities. This is a rolling programme with no deadlines but due to high demand applications should be submitted at least 6 months prior to project start date
- Large grants: for awards up to £12,000, which are aimed at larger-scale education projects
Please see the website for full details and for examples of previously funded projects.
Deadlines: No deadlines for small grants
For Large Grants, there are two deadlines per year:
- the Spring meeting considers projects related to the arts, crafts and architecture, and literacy and STEM subjects. Applications for the Spring meeting must be received by 31 January of that year
- Atthe Autumn meeting, projects covering environment and countryside, and literacy and STEM subjects are considered. Applications for the Autumn meeting must be received by 31 July of that year
