North of Tyne Community Led Local Development (NT CLLD) is a locally managed funding programme that targets selected areas in Newcastle upon Tyne & Wallsend to encourage local groups rooted in their communities to suggest, design and deliver projects that contribute to increased employment, develop businesses and improve opportunities to enhance local life.
Newcastle City Council has secured £2.1m European funding, under the England 2014-20 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme, to offer grants to organisations and deliver North of Tyne CLLD Strategy. The programme runs from 2017 till March 2022. Organisations, groups and businesses can apply for funding to deliver their projects supporting local people on their journey to employment or entrepreneurship and local businesses to grow. The Local Action Group consists of representatives of private, voluntary and community and public sectors and has been formed to drive the programme and make decisions on grant applications.
