Northern Powergrid Partnering Community Fund (Community Foundation)

The aim of the fund is to provide financial support to initiatives that are aimed at:

  • supporting local energy projects to get off the ground, including energy generation and collective purchasing/switching
  • alleviating hardship associated with fuel poverty and promoting innovative energy-related environmental impact, energy efficiency or carbon reduction solutions
  • educating and informing communities about safety in relation to energy and street works
  • encouraging interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects and sector-based career opportunities
  • promoting use of the Priority Services Register, which enables free additional support to be provided to vulnerable energy consumers

They particularly welcome applications which can demonstrate their wider environmental, social and economic benefits for the local community. These typically include, but are not limited to:

  • Boosting the local economy
  • Improving health, safety and wellbeing
  • Establishing a community benefit fund
  • Contributing to creating a greater sense of community
