The Charity Tax Commission wants to explore bold ideas for reform on how the charity tax system can be used more strategically to generate the maximum public benefit. They have launched a public consultation seeking views on whether and how the tax treatment of charities needs to be reformed.
NCVO are running consultation events across the UK, including one supported by VONNE in the North East. Confirmed speakers include:
- Chair, Sir Nicholas Monatgu, former Chairman of the Inland Revenue (commissioner)
- Clare Pelham, CEO of the Epilepsy Society (commissioner)
- Anne Hallowell from UNW (speaker)
The event takes place on Monday 9 July, 2pm at 4pm at Mea House in Newcastle upon Tyne.
