Grants are normally made to charities that can demonstrate that their aims have identifiable public benefit and that they operate in, or for the benefit of Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham including Hartlepool. Special consideration is given to charitable activities known to have been of particular interest to Sir James Knott. They include: arts and culture, community issues and events, conservation and environment, military and maritime organisations, youth clubs, projects to help the elderly, education and training.
If your application is for funding under £1,000 this can be processed outside of scheduled meeting dates and usually within 4-6 weeks.
