Rising Sun Farm seeks new trustees







If you are looking for a varied, rewarding and different voluntary role, the Rising Sun Farm Trust Ltd is currently appointing new trustees and directors to help shape the future of the urban-fringe farm and its commercial trading company.

Located in Wallsend, the Rising Sun Farm is run by a charitable trust which has been established for 28 years, with the aim of providing a range of social, environmental and economic benefits to the local area. The Trust, which owns the Rising Sun Farm Trading Company Ltd, farms 175 acres of land which includes pigs, poultry, sheep, a livery, a community food house and a Day Care Centre for adults with additional needs and learning disabilities.

The Trading Company employs six permanent staff plus casual workers and volunteers and has an annual turnover of circa £250,000. The Farm and its Trading Company has recently undergone expansion and are now looking to recruit a number of trustees and directors who can shape and oversee the management of the Farm’s services, events and trading operations at this exciting time.

Trustees currently meet four times a year and you will be joining an experienced and varied board.

Trustee vacancies at Healthwatch North Tyneside



Do you want to improve health and social care services for people in North Tyneside?

Healthwatch North Tyneside is the independent voice for users of health and social care services. They listen to people’s views and experiences, hear feedback about services and work with service providers and commissioners to better respond to people’s needs.

Healthwatch is currently looking for new volunteers to join its board of trustees. As a trustee you will play a vital role in setting Healthwatch’s direction, overseeing its work and working with health and social care providers to improve services.

They want to hear from anyone who wants to make a real difference to people’s lives in North Tyneside. You should have the skills and experiences to help Healthwatch deliver its aims and at least three hours a month available to volunteer with the organisation.
