The Foundation launched its new grants programme on 1 June and will award its first grants in July 2018.
The Foundation’s focus is on supporting smaller charitable and not-for-profit organisations within the UK, with a total annual income under £500,000, who work in the most deprived urban areas or the most remote and socio-economically deprived rural areas.
Within these overarching themes, they support projects which fall under the broad headings of Community Support, Arts, Education and Heritage.
There are two funding streams within the Foundation’s Major Grants scheme:
- Up to £20,000 a year for up to three years for core costs, salaries, project costs
- Up to £60,000 for one-off capital costs (total cost of up to £2 million)
There is also a Small Grants scheme for charitable, not-for-profit and voluntary organisations with a total annual income under £250,000, giving one-off grants between £2,000 and £7,500 for core costs, salaries, project costs or capital costs
