BFSS supports work aiming to improve the educational outcomes and life chances of young carers and care-experienced young people under the age of 25. New or innovative evidence-based interventions will be considered, with an emphasis on evaluation and the intention of scaling up or replicating. Existing projects will not be funded.

Given the impact of Covid-19 and the expectation that the disadvantage gap will widen for these young people, funders are keen to receive applications for approaches seeking to directly address this impact and work to close the gap.

Funding is available for one to five years; a maximum of £30k applies for multi-year projects. BFSS will fund between 25 and 100 per cent of the total project costs, but will give preference to projects with some degree of matched funding. Charities must have an annual income of between £5k and £2.5m, and at least three years of continuous accounts.

£30,000 – £100,000. Registered charities/schools.

Deadline: 24 January 2022.
