The trust makes grants of up to £250 to charities that provide musical activities for elderly communities in need. Concertina tries where possible to support smaller charities, reaching parts of the charity world that larger grant givers cannot.
The trustees will assess whether the charity is in financial need, the amount of benefit that would be derived from the grant and any other factors the trustees feel important. If they decide a grant is appropriate, they will consider the amount and whether to require, for example, that the charity contributes part of the cost. The trust is particularly keen to act as a catalyst via match funding.
