The Department for Work and Pensions has recently launched a £2 billion Kickstart Scheme which aims to put young people at the heart of the economic recovery. The Kickstart Scheme will support and fund organisations to create six-month paid work placements for young people aged 16-24 years of age. The scheme is available to organisations across all sectors including the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors.

The North of Tyne Combined Authority is keen to support voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors organisations who can offer quality placements which provide young people with the best opportunity of progressing into good employment or further training once the Kickstart placement has completed. In order to explore how this might best work we are inviting VCSE sector organisations from across the North of Tyne to join us for this free event.
