Volunteer Car Driver

This role involves picking up and returning older people back to their homes. This is to allow older people, who have difficulty accessing transport and need that little bit of support, to attend activities at the North Shields Methodist Church and the Catholic Club in North Shields (Fridays).

Low cars are preferable as they are easier for less mobile people to enter and exit.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help older people in the community who are often lonely, isolated and just need that helping hand.

Any support would be welcome and there is no expectation you can do all of the sessions and there is no requirement to stay while they join in with the activities.

A full induction into the role will be provided with out of pocket expenses in accordance with MHA’s Expenses Policy.

The main venue to transport to is North Shields Methodist church on Hawkeys Lane and The Catholic Club on Cecil Street.
