Places of worship can apply for grants up to £56K to increase their protective security measures. The funding is available to churches, gurdwaras, mosques, temples and associated faith community centres that have experienced or are vulnerable to hate attacks.
Grants can cover security equipment (but not the cost of recruiting security personnel) and may include: CCTV; perimeter fencing; access control gates; window locks; intruder alarm; external lighting; and security doors and the appropriate labour cost to install the security equipment.
Applicants can submit bids for up to three protective security measures. They will be required to contribute 20 per cent of the total cost.
