The P&G Fund at the Community Foundation for Tyne & Wear and Northumberland awards grants to projects under one of the following themes:
Help Create the Experience of Home – Helping to provide homes with a level of basic comfort to people who cannot afford them or who have been displaced.
Open to community groups and charities involved in improving the home life of the vulnerable or disadvantaged in our community. Such as (but not limited to) support services providing independent living or service enhancements to children in care, people with mental health issues, the elderly, the homeless or other vulnerable people. This could include day centres, palliative care centres and supported housing.
Improve Everyday Health and Confidence – enabling healthy lives through everyday healthy behaviours and hygiene education that builds confidence and self-esteem.
Building upon the value and quality of P&G brands, open to community groups and charities involved in creating happy and fulfilling lives by developing confident, active and healthy futures in our community. This could include groups which work to raise self-esteem and confidence around a range of areas such as (but not limited to) healthy living (not healthy eating projects), personal hygiene, alcohol and substance misuse, mental wellbeing, sexual health and employability skills.
Average grant amount is currently £3,500, although larger amounts can be applied for. Preference is given to grants for equipment and resources.
