Virgin Money Foundation: Community Anchors’ Fund

The Community Anchors’ Fund supports those vital, independent, locally-led organisations, committed to driving positive economic, social or environmental change within a community.

Community anchors typically work with a broad cross-section of the community, providing people with support, services, activities and volunteering opportunities. Local people shape their work and inform their activities.

The foundation is keen to support community anchors run by and for members of communities subject to racial inequity.

Community anchors should:

  • provide local services and act as a gateway
  • bring in money, training and jobs into a neighbourhood
  • be a voice for local people
  • support other community organisations
  • protect local assets
  • provide safe spaces.

The fund will award grants to community anchors to support them in becoming strong and resilient hubs that enable the community to come together and thrive. This is supported with volunteering, training and networking opportunities using the skills of colleagues from across the Virgin Money business.

Up to £30,000. VCSE.
