Interim Chief Executive Officer

North Tyneside VODA is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Executive Officer to join us from 23 November 2026, providing clear, visible and hands-on leadership during a period of transition while our Board recruits a substantive Chief Executive.

Working closely with our Chair and Board of Trustees, you will take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day leadership and management of VODA. You will provide stability and confidence for our staff, trustees and partners, maintain momentum on existing priorities and ensure our services continue to be delivered effectively.

This is a varied and hands-on leadership role with responsibility spanning our people, finances, services, funding, partnerships, governance and organisational risk. You will also maintain VODA’s important role as a trusted advocate for the VCSE sector in North Tyneside, building strong relationships with voluntary and community organisations, public sector partners, funders and commissioners.

We are looking for an experienced senior leader who can step into the role quickly, understand the organisation, establish priorities and build trusted relationships. You will bring strong leadership and financial management experience, sound judgement and the ability to combine strategic oversight with practical involvement. Experience within the VCSE or wider public service environment would be particularly valuable.

This is a North Tyneside-based role requiring a visible and accessible leadership presence. Previous experience as an Interim Chief Executive is desirable but not essential.

Grant Holder Support Officer

VODA is looking for a Grant Holder Support Officer to work directly with VCSE organisations in North Tyneside that are funded by, or seeking funding from, the National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF). You will manage a caseload of organisations, providing practical one-to-one support to help them strengthen their governance, financial management, policies, monitoring and evaluation, manage risk and successfully achieve their grant outcomes. You will work alongside organisations through an organisational health check process, identifying areas where they may need additional support and helping them to develop.

This is a new role within a wider two-year pilot programme across Tyne and Wear and County Durham. You will work closely with colleagues at VODA, the National Lottery Community Fund and equivalent Grant Holder Support Officers based within our sister local infrastructure organisations. It is a great opportunity for someone with experience in the VCSE sector, or providing advice and guidance, who enjoys building relationships and helping organisations become stronger and more sustainable.
