DiscoverMe: The Recovery College for Young People

DiscoverMe is a recovery college for young people, run in partnership with Barnardo’s The Base. It offers a safe and supportive space where you can explore your interests, express yourself, and grow your confidence. DiscoverMe’s overall aim is to empower you to better understand yourself and your health.
How to Get Involved
There are two ways you can get involved with DiscoverMe: as a participant or as a volunteer.
As a Participant
DiscoverMe is free and open to all 16–25-year-olds living across North Tyneside. You can join as many or as few activities and workshops as you like, without any obligation. There are no criteria to join, you just have to be living in North Tyneside and aged 16-25.
We offer a variety of activities and workshops such as arts and crafts, music, gaming, sports and more. All of our sessions are co-designed and co-produced, which means your ideas matter. Take a look at our What’s On page to find out more.
As a Volunteer
We also welcome young people aged 16 to 30 who want to volunteer with us and help us deliver our sessions.
Volunteering is a great way to gain experience, develop skills and give back to the community.
You will also get support and training from our friendly staff. Head over to our volunteer page to find out more.
