Grants of up to £10,000 are available to UK-registered charities for projects that improve homes and accommodation, or provide home-starter kits, for people in need. The funding is provided by the B&Q Foundation to help individuals and families facing homelessness, domestic abuse, disability, illness, or financial hardship feel safer, more settled, and better supported. Two funds are available.
- The Home Improvement Fund can support essential repairs, decorating, and other indoor and outdoor improvements.
- The Home-Starter Kits Fund helps charities purchase and distribute essential household items, with a maximum of £500 per kit. Eligible items include white goods, small electrical goods, curtains, and basic repair materials.
Only charity-managed properties qualify for home and accommodation improvements.
The closing date for applications is 14 August 2026
