B&Q Foundation

Grants of up to £10,000 are available to UK-registered charities for projects that improve homes and accommodation, or provide home-starter kits, for people in need. The funding is provided by the B&Q Foundation to help individuals and families facing homelessness, domestic abuse, disability, illness, or financial hardship feel safer, more settled, and better supported. Two funds are available.

  1. The Home Improvement Fund can support essential repairs, decorating, and other indoor and outdoor improvements.
  2. The Home-Starter Kits Fund helps charities purchase and distribute essential household items, with a maximum of £500 per kit. Eligible items include white goods, small electrical goods, curtains, and basic repair materials.

Only charity-managed properties qualify for home and accommodation improvements.

The closing date for applications is 14 August 2026
