Congregational & General Charitable Trust

The Trust give grants for all sorts of building projects to all sorts of churches of the Protestant tradition.

The Trust awards grants ranging from a minimum of £1,000 to a maximum of £25,000. All grants are directly linked to the cost of the project involved. Within the above limits, the maximum percentage is 25% of the total project cost, to the nearest £100. The level of grant awarded is at the Trustees discretion and will depend on the denomination of the Church, the type of work being undertaken and the overall aim of the project. All arrangements are subject to periodic review.

They are also able to consider applications from church community projects for funding towards capital costs (but not for ongoing work).

All applications received are considered quarterly; March, June, September and December of each calendar year. Application closure dates for each quarterly review date are displayed on this website. Depending on applications received, they distribute up to £290,000 towards approved projects each quarter.

Grants approved will normally be for capital projects involving building work such as repairs, improvements or extensions.
