Responding to some of the challenges of today, including climate change and the impact of Covid-19 on existing inequalities, the foundation has launched a new strategy, which will focus on three interdependent aims:
• Improving our natural world
• Tackling injustice to deliver a fairer future
• Nurturing creative, confident communities
Work outside of these aims will no longer be funded. Under the new strategy, the foundation will provide larger and longer-term grants, as well as strategic support to organisations or initiatives with brilliant ideas working towards these aims. This will mean fewer grants but more support to help grants achieve better results.
Grants will support core or project costs, including staff salaries and overheads, and unrestricted funding for charities. Building or equipment costs will not be considered. The new application process aims to make it quicker and easier for organisations to find out if funding is a possibility for them; organisations will be able to check their eligibility before submitting an Expression of Interest.
Minimum £30,000 grants / £100,000 investment. Charitable organisations (turnover more than £100k) / partnership. No deadline.
