Freelands Foundation: Grants for Visual Arts Education Projects

The Freelands Foundation is offering grants of up to £25,000 for UK-based visual arts education projects that engage people creatively with making and materials. The fund aims to support activity that might not otherwise take place.

About the fund

This funding supports exploratory and ambitious projects that focus on creativity, experimentation and collaboration. The Foundation is particularly interested in work that:

  • Encourages open and flexible approaches
  • Explores and challenges ideas around making and materials
  • Supports learning through experimentation and iteration
  • Promotes collaborative ways of working

Projects do not need to have a fully defined outcome. Action-research approaches that involve testing ideas and learning through doing are encouraged.

Project timeline

Projects can be of any length but must take place between: 1 January and 31 December 2027
