Great British Energy Community Fund,

Community organisations in North Tyneside may be interested in the Great British Energy Community Fund, which supports local energy projects at different stages of development.

Funding is available for feasibility studies (up to £40,000), project development (up to £100,000) and eligible capital projects (up to £3 million, or 50% of the total project value).

The fund could be relevant to organisations considering renewable energy installations, energy efficiency improvements or other community-led energy initiatives. Eligibility will depend on both the organisation and the proposed project.

The current funding round closes at 11.55pm on 12 November 2026. Organisations can also access pre-application support through the North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub, with expressions of interest for support closing at 11.55pm on 4 November 2026.

North East Energy Futures CIC has offered to provide an initial review of project ideas for organisations considering an application.
