Grants of up to £1 million are available for projects to repair, conserve and bring historic buildings and sites at risk across England back into use. Priority will be given to projects in areas of high deprivation and those that will deliver significant benefits for local communities. Applicants must have legal responsibility for the building or site. This can include owners, eligible leaseholders, and organisations with a formal agreement to acquire the property. Funding can be used for building and conservation works, professional fees, VAT that cannot be reclaimed, accessibility improvements, adapting historic buildings for new uses, temporary measures to protect buildings from further deterioration, and related project development costs.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by 18 September 2026, and full applications are due by 5pm on 30 October 2026.
