Morrisons Foundation: Connecting Communities Grant

Charities can now apply for up to £20,000 through the Connecting Communities Grant Programme to support capital projects that strengthen communities and improve local spaces.

The fund aims to support charities delivering place-based services, whether for the wider community or specific groups, by investing in buildings, facilities and outdoor spaces that bring people together, reduce social isolation and help ensure vital local services remain accessible for years to come.

Funding can be used to:

  • Upgrade and revitalise community buildings and outdoor spaces
  • Improve accessibility and make facilities more inclusive
  • Enhance spaces that support community connection and wellbeing
  • Secure the future of important local services and community assets

The programme welcomes applications from a wide range of charities, including community centres, village halls, youth clubs, community gardens, disability support services, SEN facilities, hospices, homeless shelters, veterans’ groups, warm hubs and other community-focused organisations.

To be eligible, applicants must be registered charities, own the property where the project will take place or hold a lease with at least three years remaining, and have filed at least one set of accounts with the relevant charity regulator.

The fund cannot support CICs, non-registered charities, organisations promoting political or religious messages, animal welfare charities, or charities that have received funding from the Morrisons Foundation within the past two years.

Organisations considering an application are encouraged to review the programme guidance, FAQs and grant policy before applying.
