Morrisons Foundation

The Morrisons Foundation offers grants of up to £10,000 to registered charities delivering projects across England, Scotland, and Wales.

Funding Objectives

The Foundation supports projects meeting one of three objectives:

  • Tackling poverty and social deprivation
  • Enhancing community spaces, facilities, and services
  • Improving health and wellbeing

Grant Amount

Up to £10,000 for specific projects (not running costs or ongoing service delivery).

Essential Criteria

Applications must:

  • Be from a registered charity
  • Request £10,000 or less
  • Fund a specific project meeting one of the three funding objectives
  • Be in England, Scotland, or Wales

Preferred Applications

The Foundation prioritises:

  • Smaller charities with an income of less than £1 million
  • Projects in communities served by Morrisons stores
  • Projects creating lasting legacy or impact
  • Projects with a larger number of beneficiaries

What They Don’t Fund

  • Running costs, salaries, or ongoing service delivery
  • Animal welfare projects
  • Charities promoting religious or political messages
  • Events, sponsorship, or marketing
  • Charities with late or qualified accounts, or those that haven’t yet filed accounts
  • Previously rejected applications

Success Rate

Due to high application volumes, the Foundation funds approximately 1 in 10 applications that meet the criteria.
