For more than three decades, VODA has been the backbone of North Tyneside’s voluntary and community sector, championing volunteers, empowering organisations and amplifying the voices that matter most.

As the Local Infrastructure Organisation for North Tyneside, we’re here to help your organisation thrive. Whether you need practical support, expert training or strategic advice, VODA provides the tools and connections to make a real difference in your community. As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (1075060), we support charity and community groups based in North Tyneside or with members living and working in the area.

VODA’s 2024–2025 Annual Report looks back on a year of growth, partnership and community impact. It celebrates the difference made by our staff, volunteers and local VCSE organisations, from supporting people to get involved in their communities to helping groups build strength and sustainability for the future. Celebrating Impact 2024-2025

We’re excited to share our Community Connections video, highlighting the key achievements and impact of the 2023–2024 financial year. Narrated by VODA staff, the video showcases the wide range of work we do, from the successes of our Finance team and Core Services to initiatives like NT Life, Best Start, Discover Me, Grow & Eat and our involvement in the UKSPF projects.

VODA's Mission

VODA’s MISSION We support volunteers and community organisations to enable people to live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives in North Tyneside. ENGAGE – SUPPORT - DELIVER Core services: We will provide a full range of high-quality core services free to volunteers and voluntary and community organisations across North Tyneside. Volunteering: We will manage and operate the North Tyneside Volunteers Centre, and directly deliver programmes that enable volunteers to support local residents and organisations. Sustainability: We will offer a number of chargeable services that are in demand within the VCSE sector, but which lie outside of our free core services. Partnerships: We will support and facilitate strong, mutually beneficial partnerships between VCSE organisations and other sectors. Representation: We will ensure the VCSE sector has a strong voice, is respected and is involved in decision-making as an equal partner.
