Charity Commission Launches New My Charity Commission Account (MCCA): What Trustees Need to Know

The Charity Commission has recently reminded all registered charities about the new way to log in to the Charity Commission portal. Last year, to enhance efficiency and comply with data protection legislation, the Charity Commission launched the My Charity Commission Account (MCCA). This new system allows charities to access their online services, offering each trustee or authorised employee an individual login. Previously, there was just one set of login details that was shared across organisations.

This change makes it easier for those who are trustees of multiple charities to see all the information they need on one dashboard. The MCCA is now the go-to place for trustees to submit their annual returns and update their charity details.

The introduction of MCCA was a significant change for the Commission and for charities. A year on, the majority of charities are now set up on the system.

The Commission is contacting the minority of charities that have not yet signed up for logins to the new system. The Commission has already made some improvements and will be implementing further tweaks and fixes in the months ahead as they refine the system.

If you would like further guidance on using the MCCA, then please contact VODA who can offer support, advice, and training to your VCSE group. Please contact our Core Services Team by telephone on 0191 323 2040 or by email on development@voda.org.uk.
