Family Volunteering Guide Helps Children Give Back This Summer

Summer Family Volunteering

Looking for ways to keep children entertained over the summer holidays while making a positive difference?

VODA volunteer Ellie Avery has created a free Family Volunteering Guide packed with simple ideas to help families support their local community and environment together.

The guide includes activities such as making cards for people who may be feeling isolated, creating wildflower seed balls, completing random acts of kindness, donating unwanted books and toys, exploring wildlife activities, and taking part in community beach cleans. Most activities can be done at home or outdoors with minimal cost, making them a great way to enjoy quality family time while doing something positive.

The booklet also signposts families to charities and organisations offering child-friendly volunteering, fundraising and environmental opportunities throughout the year.

Thank you to Ellie for creating this fantastic resource and supporting more families to discover the benefits of volunteering.
