Ford Britain Trust

Ford is committed to supporting the communities in which it operates. To help deliver on this commitment, the Ford Britain Trust was established in April 1975. Since then, it has provided funding to support the education and advancement of individuals and groups in areas close to Ford’s UK locations.

The Trust places particular focus on projects related to education, the environment, children, people with disabilities, youth activities, and initiatives that provide clear benefits to local communities. While applications supported by Ford employees are encouraged, the Trust is open to all organisations that meet its selection criteria.

Grant donations are awarded through five application cycles each year:

Small grants of up to £250 are accepted during the following periods:

  • 1 April to 30 June, for review in July

  • 1 August to 31 October, for review in November

  • 1 December to 28 February, for review in April

Large grants of up to £3,000 are accepted during:

  • 1 March to 31 July, for review by the Board of Trustees in September/October

  • 1 September to 31 January, for review by the Board of Trustees in March

All applicants will be informed of the outcome after the relevant review. Applications received after the stated deadlines will not be considered for the current cycle but will be included in the next.
