HDR UK Take the Lead Community Grants

Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) has launched the Take the Lead micro-grants programme to support community-led activities exploring how health data can benefit local wellbeing. Grants of £500–£1,500 are available to fund standalone projects, events, or series of activities taking place between 12 January and 8 April 2026.

Eligible activities are wide-ranging and can include projects such as community step challenges, arts or craft activities inspired by health data, health and wellbeing workshops, or initiatives that help communities advocate for their health needs. The emphasis is on creative, inclusive projects that connect data with health and wellbeing.

Who Can Apply
Applications must be led by community organisations embedded in the local area and serving at least one under-served group, including:

  • People from low socio-economic backgrounds

  • People from minority ethnic backgrounds

  • Older children and young adults aged 11–25, particularly in areas of deprivation

  • People over 65, especially in areas of deprivation

  • People living in rural areas

  • People experiencing digital exclusion

Deadline: Applications must be submitted via the Microsoft application form by 5pm BST on 13 October 2025.
