King Charles III Charitable Fund Small Grants

The King Charles III Charitable Fund is currently inviting applications to its Small Grants Programme, offering grants of up to £3,000 per year for up to three years to UK‑registered nonprofit organisations. Around 100 grants are awarded annually, making the programme highly competitive.

This funding round is open to organisations working within the Fund’s Environment and Countryside themes. Supported activity includes (but is not limited to) habitat restoration, species conservation, carbon reduction and sequestration, circular economy initiatives, sustainable and regenerative agriculture, nature‑friendly farming, and projects that strengthen the future of rural communities.

While grants are modest, the Fund places strong value on projects that deliver meaningful impact, particularly those supporting disadvantaged communities in both urban and rural settings. The programme aims not only to provide financial support, but also to raise awareness of important environmental issues and act as a catalyst for further engagement and funding.

Who can apply

To be eligible, organisations must:

  • Be a UK‑registered nonprofit organisation
  • Have an annual income between £25,000 and £500,000
  • Have completed at least two years of activity
  • Hold less than six months of unrestricted free reserves
  • Apply for projects with a total cost under £50,000

Certain organisations are not eligible, including individuals, public bodies, grant‑making organisations, and those working primarily on food poverty or food waste (which may instead apply to the Coronation Food Project).

Application details

The Small Grants Programme is open for applications from 9am on 23 April 2026 and closes at 12 noon on 7 May 2026. Applications must be submitted through the Fund’s website, and organisations are encouraged to complete the eligibility quiz before applying.

Given the high number of applications received each year, applicants should ensure their proposal clearly demonstrates alignment with the Fund’s Environment and Countryside priorities.
