NT LIFE stepping into summer

DBT
As we step into summer NT LIFE has a new timetable. This follows the success of the Spring timetable that saw Ali, 9 Volunteers and the Newcastle United Football Foundation delivering 13 different sessions each week to over 50 students for over 100 hours of access each week.
Six weeks on, a short break and we are looking to roll out the same programmes again so people have the opportunity to further their development and also to welcome new students.
The new timetable will run over June and July and we will be opening up enrolments during this time by introducing some enrolment days.
We have a diverse range of courses to be accessed including:
  • Arts and Craft
  • Creative Writing for Identity
  • Emotional Recovery Tool Kit
  • DBT Skills
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness
  • DB Cuppa T Support Group
  • Mindfulness and Relaxation
  • Digital Creative Arts
  • Confidence Building.
Here’s what our current students have been saying:
“The facilitators at NT Life really promote the feeling that we are all equal; there is no ‘us’ and ‘them.’ We are all learning from each other, and growing together -there is a real sense of empowerment in that.”
“I have been using lots of the mindful skills and although I still wobble (and who hasn’t this year) I can remind myself to find joy in the little things.. buds on trees, the sea or bubbles in the bath!! The mindfulness practices make a huge difference and it’s so much easier to get  balance back…I’d love to do more.”

“I’d give the Emotional Recovery Tool Kit Course 10 out of 10. I’ve learnt so much about different emotions and simple but effective ways I can deal with them.”
On the Snap Out of of It photography course: “I think the course gives people a reason to just get out and capture what they see in a way they probably hadn’t thought of before through taking the photographs and also helps them to learn more about their surroundings.”

We now have 400 people following us on Facebook where we post about our current courses, share local community info, have inspiring quotes and links to information on mental health. You can also see the art and craftwork created by our students and keep informed as to all things NT LIFE.
Here are some pics from the emotional recovery tool kits from Koli one of the students on the course
