Postcode Neighbourhood Trust

The Postcode Neighbourhood Trust is offering grants of up to £50,000 to support organisations working to improve the lives of disadvantaged and marginalised people across England, Scotland and Wales. Funded by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, the Trust supports hundreds of grassroots charities contributing to poverty reduction, mental health support, arts participation, and tackling inequality.

Grants are awarded over three years, with applications made through six regional Trusts, each operating its own deadlines. Priority will be given to smaller organisations with an annual income under £250,000 and those working within deprived or marginalised communities.

To be eligible, organisations must align with at least one of the Trust’s funding themes:

  • Enabling participation in the arts by helping people overcome specific barriers to access.
  • Preventing or reducing the impact of poverty with specialist, ongoing support.
  • Supporting marginalised groups and tackling inequality by addressing systemic barriers.
  • Improving mental health through ongoing support for people experiencing mental ill‑health.

Funding rounds for 2026 are as follows:

  • Round 1: 25 March (9am) – 1 April (12 noon)
  • Round 2: 24 June (9am) – 1 July (12 noon)
  • Round 3: 24 September (9am) – 1 October (12 noon)

Eligible applicants include registered charities, CICs with an asset lock, and Community Benefit Societies with an income between £10,000 and £1 million. Funding is flexible and can support the organisation’s core work rather than a single project. Successful applicants may distribute the total award over three years, with no more than 50% taken in any one year.

The Trust emphasises that demand is consistently high, and although priority criteria may influence decisions, the overall strength of the application remains the key factor. Organisations can find full guidance, eligibility criteria, and application materials on the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust website.
