Sport England Movement Fund

The Movement Fund provides grants of £300 to £15,000 for community physical activity projects that support people facing barriers to being active.

What They Fund

Projects that get more people active, including:

  1. New Activity Sessions – Setting up new experiences or activity sessions for people to get involved
  2. Spaces and Equipment – Improving or creating new spaces for people to be active, or providing equipment needed for activities
  3. Environmental Sustainability – Projects that combine environmental sustainability with physical activity opportunities
  4. Capacity Building – Supporting organisations to build their capacity and capability to help their community be active
  5. Emergency Response – Responding to emergencies that impact physical activity participation and helping restart activities

Grant Details

  • Amount: £300 to £15,000
  • Duration: Projects can run for up to 12 months
  • Deadlines: No submission deadline – rolling programme
  • Timeline: Apply at least 12 weeks before you want to start your activity or spend any money. Decisions are usually made within six to eight weeks

Focus

The fund prioritises people who face barriers to physical activity and projects designed to help them join in and be active in their communities.
