The Frederick Milburn Fund

The Frederick Milburn Fund at the Community Foundation supports projects which have a connection with the River Tyne. The projects can be activities on the river, involve communities situated on the river or be associated with communities that have a link to the heritage of the river e.g. shipyards or coal mining.

Organisations are invited to apply for a grant of between £1,000 and £2,000 for this type of work. Applications for project, capital and related core costs are welcome.

The fund prefers to support grassroots organisations where the grant will cover a significant proportion of the overall total cost and where there is a legacy for the local community.

Deadline for applications: 18 August 2025
