The Tree Council – Branching Out Fund

The Tree Council’s Branching Out Fund offers grants of between £250 and £2,500 to support community planting projects across the UK.

Funding is available to:

  • Schools

  • Registered charities

  • Constituted community groups

  • Community Interest Companies

  • Tree Warden networks and other eligible organisations

Grants can be used to buy UK native trees, hedgerow plants, orchard trees, mulch, stakes and other essential materials. In some cases, non-native trees and more durable tree guards may also be funded, depending on the project’s needs.

The fund is designed to help local groups improve their green spaces, boost biodiversity, and bring people together through practical environmental action.

The application deadline is 14 November 2025.

Full guidance and application forms are available on the Tree Council website: treecouncil.org.uk
