Are you looking for funding to support your community or voluntary organisation? Don’t miss the VODA Funding Fair 2025 on Tuesday 28th January, 10am-2pm, at the Linskill Centre, North Shields. This is your opportunity to meet with key funders and secure funding for your projects.

- Attendance: Strictly by appointment only, with a maximum of two attendees per organisation
- Closing Date for Applications: 31st December 2024
- Priority given to North Tyneside VCSE organisations
What’s on Offer?
At the Funding Fair, you’ll have the chance to book 15-minute appointments with up to four funders. Each funder will discuss your project and assess whether it aligns with their funding criteria. These meetings offer an invaluable opportunity to explore the best funding options available for your work.
Be sure to review each funder’s criteria before booking—places are limited, and slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Confirmations of your appointment times will be sent by 17th January 2025.
Funders You Can Meet:
- Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland: Offering grants of around £6,000 to small, local charities and community organisations, with a focus on those with incomes under £0.5 million.
- Heritage Lottery Fund: The largest funder of UK heritage, offering grants ranging from £10,000 to £10 million for projects that preserve and promote the UK’s rich heritage.
- The Ballinger Charitable Trust: Supporting projects benefiting children, young people, and older people, with both core and project funding available.
- Hadrian Trust: Offering grants of between £500 and £2,000 for registered charities working in social welfare, youth, disability, and more.
- Karbon Homes Community Grants: Providing grants of up to £4,000 to projects that focus on health, wellbeing, and community cohesion.
- The Sir James Knott Trust: Supporting projects that improve conditions for people living and working in the North East, with grants ranging from £400 to £30,000.
- RW Mann Trust: Grants between £500 and £5,000 for community groups and registered charities, especially those working with children, youth, and people with disabilities.
- Children In Need: Funding for projects supporting disadvantaged children and young people, with grants for both core and project activities.
- Banks Community Fund: Supporting charitable and environmental causes, particularly those near the Killingworth Moor site.
- Sported: Offering support and funding for sports and youth groups working with disadvantaged young people to help them thrive.
Can Social Enterprises & CICs attend?
Please check the criteria of each funder individually as some will not accept applications from Social Enterprises or CICs.

To attend the VODA Funding Fair 2025, book your appointments by 31st December 2024. Make sure to carefully review each funder’s criteria before booking, as availability is limited. Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s best to apply early.

Vicky from the Grow & Eat project will also be at the fair to answer all your questions about the Grow & Eat grant, which helps community groups and charitable organisations set up or improve a community garden for their members. She will see organisations on a first-come, first-served basis.
