Volunteering your time is a great way to make a difference, learn new skills, take on fresh challenges and meet new people.

There are volunteering opportunities to suit people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities – no matter how much or little time you have to give.

Find out about the range of opportunities available in North Tyneside at VODA’s Volunteer Recruitment Fair, which takes place on Saturday 22 September, 10am to 3pm at YMCA North Tyneside in North Shields. This free event is your chance to meet a variety of organisations which involve volunteers in their work, with everything from helping school children with their reading, supporting people with sight loss, befriending, conservation and much more. Organisations attending include:

  • Meadow Well Connected
  • The Linskill Centre
  • Dyslexia North East
  • Alzheimer’s Society
  • RNIB (Royal National Institution of Blind People)
  • YMCA North Tyneside
  • Friends Action North East
  • Beanstalk
  • Moving on Tyne & Wear

This is a free, drop-in event – there is no need to book. VODA staff will also be on hand to discuss any aspects of volunteering and to tell you about our own volunteering projects.
