The Local Community Spaces Fund offers grants of £10,000–£20,000 to help charitable groups repair, renovate or improve community spaces so they can continue to provide essential activities and support. The fund focuses on spaces that help reduce loneliness, social isolation, and barriers to community participation.
Funding can support essential repairs (such as boilers, roof or window replacement, flooring, security upgrades), accessibility improvements, or adaptations that help a space serve more people. Outdoor community spaces may also be eligible if they are open all year and used by a range of groups.
Eligible applicants include UK‑based registered charities, CICs and Community Benefit Societies that have been formally registered for at least three years. Organisations must operate a community space, have an annual income between £40,000 and £400,000, and meet requirements around governance, safeguarding, reserves and site ownership or lease. The project must be fully funded by the grant and/or secured match funding.
The fund prioritises busy, inclusive community hubs, youth spaces in areas of high deprivation, and centres offering targeted support for people most affected by hardship. Groups charging high or exclusionary fees, or those serving only one user group, are unlikely to be funded.
How to apply: Applications close 28 April 2026. (Applications may close early if demand is high.)
