Celebrating Trustees Week 2025

Trustees Week logo

In our latest Governance Blog, we are flying the flag for trustees this Trustees’ Week 2025. Trustees’ Week is an annual celebration of the work of trustees across the UK and each year the theme is to celebrate, support and inspire.

Without trustees volunteering their time and expertise, most voluntary organisations simply couldn’t operate. They provide the strategic leadership, governance oversight and commitment that keeps charities focused on their mission and operating effectively.

This year, VODA organised a bespoke networking brunch for Trustees across North Tyneside here at VODA on Wednesday 5 November. This was a wonderful opportunity for trustees to connect with one another, share experiences, and celebrate the invaluable work they do.

However you choose to get involved in Trustees’ Week, we would urge you to use this week as a reminder to give a huge thank you to your own Board of trustees for the time, commitment and resources they individually contribute to help your organisation thrive. This week, why not send a personal thank-you note to each of your trustees, or consider adding ‘trustee appreciation’ as a standing agenda item at your next board meeting?

For more information on Trustees’ Week see https://trusteesweek.org/

Whether you celebrated with us this week or in your own way, let’s use Trustees’ Week to ensure our trustees know just how valued they are. And if you need support strengthening your board or governance practices, VODA’s Core Services Team is here to help. Contact us for advice by telephone on 0191 323 2040 or by email on development@voda.org.uk.
