Mobility Foundation Funding

The Motability Foundation is offering a range of grants to UK charities and not-for-profits supporting disabled people with transport and mobility access. Five open funding streams are currently available, with grants ranging from £50,000 to £1 million. The Foundation anticipates announcing four additional grant programmes in the autumn of 2025.

Available Grants and Deadlines

  1. Active Travel – For projects improving access to walking, cycling or other active travel.
    Deadline: 15 December 2025

  2. Wheelchairs and Mobility Aids – Large Grants – For larger national initiatives.
    Deadline: 15 December 2025

  3. Wheelchairs and Mobility Aids – Small Grants – For local and regional services.
    Deadline: 15 December 2025

  4. Driving Tuition – For programmes supporting disabled people to learn to drive.
    Deadline: 31 March 2026

  5. Travel Training – For projects building skills and confidence for independent travel.
    Deadline: 15 December 2025

Grants can support projects lasting up to three years.

Who Can Apply

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation

  • Have at least 3 years of experience

  • Have an annual income of £50,000 or more

  • Hold at least 3 months’ worth of reserves

Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisations (DDPOs) are particularly encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

All applications follow a two-stage process, starting with an Expression of Interest. Organisations should apply to the programme that best fits their project.
