National Deaf Children’s Society Community Grants

The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) is currently accepting applications to its Community Grants programme, offering funding to organisations that support deaf children and their families across the UK.

Groups can apply for grants ranging from £1,000 to £10,000 to deliver projects that help build strong, connected communities for families with deaf children.

About the Community Grants Programme

The Community Grants programme aims to strengthen local communities by bringing together families of deaf children. For parents, particularly in the early years after diagnosis, having access to a supportive community can make a significant difference as they learn more about their child’s needs.

The early years are a crucial stage in every child’s development. For deaf children, timely access to the right support, adjustments and opportunities is especially important to help develop language, communication and social skills.

Funding focus: early years (0–5)

For this funding cycle, NDCS is prioritising projects that support deaf children aged 0–5, either directly or indirectly. Projects may also involve:

  • older deaf children and young people

  • families and carers

  • professionals working with deaf children

How to apply

The first step in the application process is to complete an eligibility check. If a group is eligible, NDCS will then provide a link to the full application form.

The programme is open year-round and operates on a rolling basis, with set assessment dates. Applicants will be advised when to expect a decision once their application has been submitted.
