Newcastle University has opened applications for its Social Justice Pulse Fund 2025, offering up to £3,000 per project for collaborative, action-focused initiatives that address key social justice themes. These include cost of living, race equity, and health inequalities, or topics that intersect with them.
The funding is designed to support small, rapid projects carried out jointly by at least one University colleague and one or more VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) organisations. All funding from this round will be paid directly to VCSE partners, positioning them as full collaborators in the work.
Projects can cover a range of activities, including reviews of evidence, the creation of non-academic outputs, the development of recommendations, and actions that contribute to positive social change.
Applications are open until 5pm on 16 May 2025, with decisions communicated by 23 May.
Successful applicants will deliver their findings by the end of September 2025, submit a short Pulse Review report, and present their work at a Social Justice Forum in October.
