The 2024 VODA North Tyneside VCSE Awards Open for Nominations!

Voluntary and community organisations across North Tyneside are invited to submit nominations for the 2024 VODA VCSE Awards. These awards shine a spotlight on the incredible work being done within the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in North Tyneside.

Nomination Categories

  • Voluntary or Community Organisation of the Year: awarded to a local voluntary or community organisation that delivers significant social impact and makes a valuable contribution to the local community.
  • Volunteer{s) of the Year: awarded to a volunteer aged over 19 who is dedicated to supporting, raising funds and/or awareness of a charity or cause. Amazing individuals who have shown the greatest commitment and have made a real difference to their local community in the past year.
  • Young Volunteer{s} of the Year: awarded to a young person (or group of young people), aged 19 or under, who demonstrates commitment to their charity or charitable cause and has made a positive impact on their voluntary organisation or the wider community.
  • Trustee of the Year: awarded to a trustee who is dedicated to supporting their charity. Amazing individuals who have shown great commitment and have helped steer their organisation and made a real difference over the last year.

How to Submit a Winning Nomination

When submitting your nomination, consider the following key points to provide a compelling case for your nominee:

  • The background of the organisation or individual, and what they do on a day to day basis.
  • What difference the organisation or individual makes to their beneficiaries, organisation, or wider community.
  • What it is about the nominee that makes them exceptional and stand out compared to others.
  • Anything innovative or amazing that the nominee has done, including any obstacles overcome.
  • Any specific outcomes or impacts for beneficiaries/organisation/community that have happened as a result of the nominee’s involvement.

We’ve we’ve put together this list of 10 hints and tips for you to think about when making your nomination.

Important Information

Winners will be presented with their awards at VODA’s AGM on the morning of Tuesday 6 November and will be notified in advance (therefore it is hoped that winners are able to attend the AGM to receive their award). Save the date, AGM bookings will be open soon!

The deadline for nominations is Thursday 17 October 2024. The nomination will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete.

Eligibility and Additional Notes

  • Nominations are open to all VCSE sector organisations, groups, volunteers, and trustees within North Tyneside.
  • You must work or volunteer for a VODA member organisation to nominate. If you’re unsure about membership status, please contact admin@voda.org.uk. You can sign up for free VODA membership here. You may complete the membership form after you have made your submission.
  • Due to the awards being judged by a panel of VODA’s Trustees, we cannot accept nominations for VODA volunteers or Trustees (unless it is in connection with their involvement with a different VCSE sector organisation / group within North Tyneside).
