The Kellet Fund

Funding is open to community and voluntary sector organisations active in Tyne & Wear, Northumberland and Chester-Le-Street.

You may apply for up to £30,000 per annum over two years.

What work will the fund support?

The priority is to fund core activities and projects that:

  • support the active participation of older people in all aspects of community affairs,

and/or

  • provide leisure and learning activities for older people.

They are particularly interested in supporting work that delivers against both, offering older people opportunities to both benefit from and contribute to service provision.

To be successful, your application must also demonstrate how your organisation:

  • involves older people in your governance, service planning and/or delivery.
  • has a robust plan to ensure the project reaches out to individuals and communities that are at risk of being excluded from services to older people.

In addition, the Community Foundation will prioritise applications that address issues identified through their Vital Signs initiative.

The Kellett Fund balances the requirement to provide longer-term funding for established initiatives against the demand to support new and innovative projects. Applications for continuation funding are welcomed where grantees have demonstrated significant impact. Please discuss this with us before making an application.

Deadline: 5 May 2025
