The Port of Tyne Community Action Fund will support projects that address one or more of the following priorities in the North East, with Tyneside a priority :
- Volunteering and skills development for young people or adults furthest from the employment market
- Activities which help people affected by poor mental health or isolation e.g. peer support groups
- Activities which support families affected by food poverty and promote healthier choices e.g. cooking on a budget, family cookery sessions
- Supporting children through positive activities to develop confidence, social skills and encouraging play e.g. parent and toddler groups, youth sessions
- Addressing poverty and inequality including support for charities that provide welfare benefits advice and food
Organisations are invited to apply for a grant of between £1,000 and £5,000.
