The True Colours Trust – UK Small Grants programme

The True Colours Trust UK Small Grants programme supports local organisations that improve the lives of disabled children, young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Grants help charities provide activities, family support, bereavement services, and specialist equipment or facilities.

Grant amounts
Grants are awarded up to £10,000, though many are smaller.

Who can apply
UK-registered charities and community interest companies delivering projects in the UK can apply. Grants are aimed at organisations working with children and young people aged 0–25, including their siblings and families. To reach as many groups as possible, the Trust usually does not fund the same organisation in consecutive years.

What we fund
Grants can cover a wide range of support and equipment, including:

  • Activities and family support for children with disabilities or life-limiting conditions

  • Support for siblings

  • Bereavement services for children, young people, and families

  • Respite for the whole family

  • Equipment and facility improvements such as hydrotherapy pools, multi-sensory rooms, minibuses, and specialist play equipment

How to apply
Applications are accepted year-round, with decisions normally made within 12 weeks. Organisations should read the eligibility criteria carefully, complete the application form, and provide any supporting documentation required. A site visit (virtual or in-person) may also be requested.
