The Wellbank Foundation

The Wellbank Foundation is a family-run charity that offers grants to support registered charities in North East England. The foundation aims to fund initiatives that improve lives and help individuals reach their full potential, with grants ranging from £500 to £25,000.

The foundation welcomes applications from organisations assisting disadvantaged people, whether due to financial hardship, health issues, or other challenges. While it focuses on educational, sporting, and environmental projects, it will consider other initiatives that align with its goals.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Based in the North East with a turnover under £1m.
  • Benefits multiple North East residents disadvantaged by youth, age, ill-health, disability, or financial hardship.
  • Funding must be for planned projects (no retrospective funding).
  • Excludes research projects and religious or political causes.
  • Contributions to sub-projects, including capital or equipment, are eligible, but core running costs are not.

The Wellbank Foundation encourages projects with long-lasting impacts and has funded up to four applications per quarter. It especially invites applications from the North Tyneside area.

Organisations are encouraged to apply to make a difference in their community with the support of the Wellbank Foundation.
