Trusthouse Charitable Foundation: Major Grants

Charities and voluntary organisations working with families in need can apply for funding through the Trusthouse Charitable Foundation Major Grants programme. Grants are available for core costs, salaries, running expenses, and project costs.

Funding Available

  • Single-year grants: Between £10,000 and £50,000.
  • Multi-year grants: Up to £100,000 over three years (maximum £50,000 per year).

Who Can Apply?

Organisations must:

  • Focus on family support, which may include early intervention, support for families coping with addiction, or work with prisoners’ families.
  • Be a voluntary sector organisation with an annual turnover of £500,000 or less.
  • Be located in or delivering projects within the most deprived 15% of urban areas or the most deprived 50% of rural areas (according to the Index of Multiple Deprivation).
  • Be frontline organisations working directly with families.

Exclusions

The fund does not support:

  • Adventure playgrounds, baby banks, or disability charities.
  • Campaigning, fundraising, organisational development, or capacity building.
  • Projects that represent a major shift away from an organisation’s core aims.

The Trustees will consider how the grant will add value to the organisation’s financial situation.
